Personal Branding: Personality Types

In November, I made a monthly goal to work on my personal branding. I didn't accomplish much that month, but I did take a personality test. I've taken a handful of personality tests throughout my life - one or two in high school, one freshman year of college, another a few years after that, and now I've taken one again just a couple months ago. Personalities and the way people think are always intriguing to me, so naturally, this kind of test is something I love to do and provides me with a lot of insight.

In the past, I've noticed that I've bounced between certain traits. I believe it's always been between the "N" and "S" traits and the "T" and "F" traits, but the older I've gotten, the more I've learned about myself and how I react to things, and now I feel like my personality type is a very real reflection of who I am, and I'm not as on the fence about certain ideas.

Give Back: The Alzheimer's Association

As part of my Year of 52 and 12, every month I'm supporting organizations and causes that I believe in. I'm a firm believer in "putting my money where my mouth is." With such a highly connected world, it's so incredibly easy to ramble on and on about "the issues" on social media, but seldom do we do much more than talk about it. I'm tired of simply talking about it; I want to be about it. Every month, I want to share what I'm doing to "give back" as a way to encourage you to let your actions speak louder. Whether you choose to support the same cause as me or something entirely different, it is my hope that we all make this year the year that we did something good for the world in which we live.
It is my hope that we act.

To start off my Year of Giving, I decided to give back to an organization that is fighting to eliminate a disease that claims hundreds of thousands of lives every year - Alzheimer's. "The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research."

December Goal Recap

I figured it was time for my December Goal Recap considering it's, ya know, already half way through January. I had just one goal for the final month of 2015 - get organized, and plan for the new year. I can't say I really did that. Eek!

It was as if I posted that post and boom! Christmas had arrived. I'm not sure how it happened, but the month of December literally came and went in the blink of an eye. And the first week of this month had me rolling out of bed just 20 minutes before I needed to be to work. I was very much in a zombie-like state. It's been bizarre to say the least.

A Year of 52 and 12

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it is 2016! I'm going to be 25 this year, y'all. That's not supposed to be happening. But listen, I know I still haven't done my final goal recap of 2015 or any kind of typical "end of 2015" posts, but before we get too deep into 2016, I wanted to share my new year's resolutions. (And then I'll go back and do some proper wrapping up.)

Firstly, I really enjoyed doing monthly goals last year. I feel like they helped me to stay focused on improvement, and I got great feedback from friends and family about them as well. So this year, I'm going to continue to do monthly goals. But I also want to go a little deeper, and so I give you...

A Year of 52 and 12

As we all know, there are 52 weeks in a year and 12 months. That's where those numbers come from. In addition to my monthly goals, I have some things I want to focus on doing once a week or once a month for the whole year. These aren't things I only want to focus on for a short period of time. These are things that I want to do all year long and make a part of my lifestyle for the long haul.
