February Goal Recap

The end of February has brought a ton of frustration. Snow, snow, and more snow! This summer-loving beach girl is NOT a fan of snow, but Mother Nature has covered Knoxville with it for the past two weeks. Literally, y'all. I have not seen the ground for two weeks, and it's miserable. Thank God March is almost here. I desperately need some spring weather. Anyway, here's how I did on my goals this month.

+ Drink 4 glasses of water a day. I'd call this a success. I'll admit that there were just a few days where I drank four glasses of water, but most days I got in three. Drinking water, especially when you rarely drink it to begin with, is a hard task. Getting through three glasses was about all I could handle. But I'm still proud of myself because my water consumption has gone way up. For the most part, I'm constantly sipping on a glass, and that was the whole purpose of this goal - to be continuously drinking water.

+ Read a book. Accomplished, but not how I originally planned. When I made this goal I was thinking about getting through just your basic novel, but I've ended up starting something much more meaningful. This month I started reading the Bible. It's something I've always wanted to do, and now I'm finally doing it. I'm typically very private about my faith though, so this will probably be the one and only time I'll ever mention this here on SS Jess. But I have decided to blog about my Bible reading journey on a separate blog - A Coffee Date with God. If you're interested, I'd love for you to join me over there.

+ Write in my journal at least once a week. So I didn't journal once a week, but I did write two fairly long entries this month, and I've almost caught up with everything that's happened since the last time I journaled. Even though I didn't meet my goal, I feel like journaling is slowly becoming a bigger priority to me, so there is progress here. I'm going to keep this goal in mind next month and continue to make an effort to write.

+ Clean out the closet. Check! The first weekend of the month Bryan and I (mainly me) went through the closet and bagged up everything that needed to be donated. I also reorganized the closet, so everything is much better compared to a month ago. It's the little things that make a difference.

+ Experiment with my hair. This is the one goal I absolutely did not do in the slightest. I didn't even buy a hairdryer. I swear my intentions were good, but when it's cold outside the last thing I want to do is fix myself up any more than I have to. I just want to bundle up, go do what I have to do, then get back home as quickly as possible. Once spring gets here I'll revisit this goal. On a positive note though, I did paint my nails twice this month, which is basically unheard of. I made this hair goal because I'm becoming more and more interested in beauty routines, so even though I didn't touch my hair, I did put a little more effort into my nails. Silver lining, y'all.
