Three Quarters

Platform 9 3/4

Part of the excitement of going to London was being where the world of Harry Potter was born. My mom and I are huge Potterheads, so it was necessary that we find Platform 9 3/4 ASAP.
And that is exactly what we did on day 1 of the trip. We took the tube to King's Cross Station and got in line to take pictures at the ever popular site where Harry boarded the Hogwarts Express. We probably waited 20 or 30 minutes for this moment, and it was magical.

I knew of this spot before arriving in London, but I figured it was just a small feature in the train station where you can walk up to it, take a quick picture, and leave - all while having locals look at you like a weirdo. But it was much more professional than that. It was almost like an attraction at Disney World. There is a set line under the control of employees, and there is a gift shop right next to the platform. Scarves from the different houses are provided, and you have your picture taken by one of the employees which can be later purchased in the gift shop. It was special to us that we were able to start our trip with a taste of the Harry Potter world and end our trip with the Harry Potter experience of a lifetime, which I'll tell you more about in posts to come. Trust me when I say it was overwhelming fantastic in every way, and I can't wait to share it with you.
