2014 Word of the Year

Every year I make resolutions for the new year, and I always try to keep them. Some years are more successful than others. But for some reason that just didn't seem like the way to go for this year. I have a lot of big things happening in the coming months - most notably my graduation - and I really have no idea what's going to happen or where I'm going to be by the end of the year. There are so many possibilities, and there is so much uncertainty. Making a list of resolutions seemed restricting basically. So instead of resolutions I'm going to have a word of the year, and the 2014 word of the year is:

With all the potential that this year holds and all the change that this year will bring, there is only one thing I really know for sure and that's that I want to grow as an adult in 2014. There are a ton of changes that I'm going to have to make in order to do that, and making a list of all of those things just seemed pointless. It makes much more sense to just combine all of those changes into one common goal - to grow.

I want to grow as a woman - develop my look, my wardrobe, and my living space.

I want to grow as a professional - graduate from college and find a full-time, big girl job.

I want to grow as an individual - become financially independent and stop relying so heavily on my mom for everything.

I want to grow in my lifestyle - find a balance between relaxing, being active, and eating healthy.

I want to grow in my relationship - have Bryan and I living closer and sharing more experiences and memories.

And these are only a handful of ways I want to grow this year. My life is going to change drastically in the next 12 months, and I want to be able to embrace the new and to see 2014 as an opportunity to grow.

What are your goals for 2014?
Do you have resolutions, or are you changing it up like me?
Drop me a comment, and let me know!
