23 before 23

It's the final day in my "22" mini-series, and it's all about what I want to accomplish in the next year - before I turn 23. It's weird to think my next birthday will be 23...I can't be that old. But like I said earlier this week, I'm finally at the age where true adulthood begins, and I want to make the most of it by starting out on the right foot.

I'm really hoping that by this time next year I'll have my life together for the most part. I'm hoping I'll have chosen a path and been pursuing it. I'm hoping I'll feel comfortable and optimistic with where I'm at. And I'm hoping these small goals that I'm setting for myself now will help me get to that point. Most of the things on this list I know will happen or it's something I'm already planning on doing, but there are also some things that I have made no effort towards, but I'm hoping I'll hold myself accountable and make them happen. So, here they are - 23 things I want to do before I turn 23.

1. Earn my Bachelor's Degree.

2. Find a full-time, big girl job.

3. Visit a new country.

4. Sign up for a good frequent flyer miles plan.

5. Find 5 dinner recipes and cook them all by myself. And this is huge because I don't cook, like, at all right now.

6. Create a working budget for myself. Like, on a spreadsheet and everything.

7. Check off at least 15 new places in my book.

8. Sign up and participate in a mud run or color run.

9. Open a savings account specifically for travel.

10. Introduce Bryan to raw oysters.

11. Go skydiving. I know I mentioned it yesterday as something I want to do before I die. Well, I'm actually really wanting to do it, like, now.

12. Go to a wine tasting.

13. Invest in a quality luggage set. Or at least begin saving up for one.

14. And buy a Louis Vuitton Neverfull. Or at least be saving for one.

15. Join a Gamma Phi Beta alumnae chapter.

16. Attend a blogger's convention. Preferably one that is specifically for travel bloggers.

17. Clean out my closet. Get rid of all the clothes I don't wear, and make room for a new, mature, professional wardrobe. And then start buying the pieces to fit this new wardrobe.

18. Read all the books I haven't yet read that I currently own.

19. Keep my plants alive. I have two plants: one that I've had for a little over a year and one that I got this past summer. They're doing good so far, and I want them to stay that way.

20. Attend a regular season Atlanta Falcons home game.

21. Buy my mom something that she would not indirectly be paying for.

22. Give back. I really want to find a cause that I can support 100% and donate to it.

23. Stop worrying so much about making mistakes. I'm only human, and I can't be perfect all the time. The sooner I realize that and accept it, the better life will be.

That seems like a pretty achievable list to me. What do you hope to do before your next birthday? I hope you've enjoyed my "22" mini-series this week, and I hope my lists have helped to inspire you in some way. Or I at least hope they were entertaining. Happy Friday, and enjoy the weekend!

  2. At the risk of seeming like a total stalker, I remembered this 22 series. Now that you're 23, I'd love to see what you achieved from this list!
