The Curse

The Braves lost to the Dodgers by one run. It was the bottom of the 8th then Kimbrel would have closed the deal. We would have had a fifth game, and we would have had it in Atlanta. But then Uribe homered…

The Falcons lost to the Jets by a field goal. There was a 1:54 left on the clock. We had just gotten a touchdown giving us a 1-point lead. All the defense had to do was drain the clock, and we would have had a 2-3 record. Not good, but it’s a sure hell of a lot better than 1-4. But the Jets got in field goal range. And in the final seconds my heart shattered as the ball went through the uprights…

Even the Hawks lost. I hate basketball and don’t keep up with it at all. But ya know, salt in the wounds…

Atlanta sold its soul many years ago. We signed a contract with the Devil for the ‘96 Olympics. We should have let Athens have it.

Check out this article to see that other people share in my grief. And check out this article to see why "The Curse of '96" all makes sense.

I would love to mourn with all who feel my pain.
Leave a comment, and let out all the frustration and sadness.
