Kennesaw Mountain

LET'S HAVE CLASS OUTSIDE. At the beginning of the semester I had a partner project in my Digital Media Production class where we had to take pictures and create a PR photo campaign to promote a certain local area. My partner and I chose Kennesaw Mountain. It was really simple, and what I liked most about the project was that we were able to use class time to shoot the project. It was a gorgeous day - a little hot - but still gorgeous.

Looking back on these pictures takes me to a much better day than what we're experiencing right now. It had been raining so much since the beginning of the year, but for about the past month the weather has been great. But now the rain is back, and it doesn't help at all that it's getting cooler. I said in my last post that I'm not minding the coolness too much, but I do mind it when rain is added to the mix. It's just not a pleasant combination, and all it does is make me want to put on some comfy clothes and snuggle up in my bed.

It's days like today and memories like this one that have me longing for nice weather - weather where I could go up to the top of Kennesaw Mountain and sit peacefully admiring the view. And I can only imagine how much prettier the view will be in a couple weeks when all the leaves are bright reds and oranges and yellows for a short amount of time. I tend to wish for my coastal home all too much, for being 20 minutes from the beach, and hoping that someday soon I'll be back to living close to the ocean. I wish for it so much that sometimes I forget that where I'm at right now holds just as much beauty. It's good to have these little reminders that force you to slow down and live in the moment.
