SSI Lighthouse: Part I

THE TOP. After visiting two houses while on the Outer Banks I got this urge to see as many lighthouses as I can, and what better place to start than with my hometown's very own lighthouse?
I've lived in the St Simons/Brunswick, GA area since I was like, four or five, but I have never been to the lighthouse. Well, that's just silly. So once I got home from my vacation, the very next day I was on the island and purchasing my 10-dollar ticket to climb to the top. I'm glad I did, too. Sometimes we all get so wrapped in seeing other places that we forget about the beauty of our hometowns. After going to another set of islands I realized how much I appreciate my own island, and I want to make more of an effort to see my own area as beautifully as I see everywhere else. People travel to the Georgia coast every year, and they get so jealous when I tell them that's where I'm from. I'm so fortunate to have grown up in such a pretty place, and I've tried so hard to not take it for granted. But sometimes it takes someplace else to make you realize how great home really is.

As for the pictures, I think if I included all the pictures I want to show y'all in one post that it would be a little overwhelming, so I'm splitting up these pictures into two separate posts. Today - pictures from the top. Tomorrow - pictures from the ground. Enjoy!
