Retreat

Last weekend was our recruitment retreat for Gamma Phi Beta.
The sisters at UGA were kind enough to let us use their house for the weekend, so about 80 of us drove to Athens to stay at the beautiful Delta Upsilon home to get prepared for recruitment at the end of August. I was a little nervous about going at first; 80 women in one house for three days sounds like drama waiting to happen. But everything went splendidly! It really was such a great time, and we all bonded so much more. There weren't any problems, and I know that I, personally, feel so much more prepared to find the perfect pledge class for Gamma Phi this fall. It was a great experience, and it has made me fall so much more in love with my sorority, which I didn't think was possible. I am so excited for recruitment now, and I'm feeling so confident.

And I've got to say, one of the biggest highlights of this weekend was my pledge class FINALLY getting our jerseys. We have been waiting for these things for what has seemed like years, and I am thrilled to finally have mine! Just some info about the jerseys: every sorority on campus gets jerseys. All the new girls are nicknamed by their Bigs; in this case, my nickname is Merica. (Red white and blue all day.) And the number has to do with your initiation. For me, I was the 339th sister initiated into the Zeta Omega chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. I cannot WAIT to flaunt this bad boy once fall semester starts!
