1,000 Places: Amelia Island, Florida

1 2 4 Fernandina Beach // 3 Imagine living here and waking up to that view every day.

In an effort to make another check mark in my "1,000 Places to See Before You Die" book, my mom and I went to Amelia Island. It's so weird that we live no more than an hour from here, yet we've never been. I didn't take that many pictures unfortunately, but I can assure you that it was quite beautiful, especially the beach. Back home our ocean water is brown. And I'm not even exaggerating; it's brown. But go an hour south, and the water is so much more blue.

We also walked around downtown, which was nice after being on a very windy beach. But I have to say my favorite part was looking at all the houses. My mom and I love houses, and we always make sure to find the biggest ones to drool over. On Amelia, there are a ton of houses right next to the beach, and being that I love the beach I was super jealous. It's my dream to eventually have a house looking over the ocean, and after my visit to Amelia Island I think Fernandina Beach is in the running for where I could possibly end up. So pretty and quaint...

And with Amelia Island visited I'm up to 22/1000 places checked off.

  1. I'm jealous ! I don't think I've made any new checkmarks in that book since I went to Vegas like a year ago. This place looks really pretty though !
