Bahamas Photo Diary: Part I

1 Welcome to Treasure Cay // 2, 3, 8, 10 Hope Town's Elbow Reef Lighthouse // 4, 6, 9, 12 Nipper's Bar and Grill // 5 House at Elbow Reef // 7 Went to the beach as soon as we got off the plane // 11 First sunset at Treasure Cay

I decided to split these Bahamas pictures up into two posts because I didn't want there to be a picture overload, and I may or may not want to relive my 18th birthday for as long as possible. These pictures are from the first couple days of the trip.

Luckily, my family has been to the Bahamas multiple times, and my Grandpa lived there before he passed away. We know our way around the islands, and we like to go to places off the tourist's trail. We stayed at a condo in Treasure Cay. As soon as we got off the plane we went to the store and then to the condo to drop off our bags. Then we went to a local bar (one of two on the island) so I could have my first non-virgin drink. (18 is legal in the Bahamas!) Then we hung out on the beach for a while until the sun started to set.
Our first full day we immediately rented a boat and went exploring. The first stop was the lighthouse at Elbow Reef. It was absolutely beautiful at the top even though it was really windy. Personally I loved the quaintness of the little island. We then took the boat to Great Guana Cay and visited the incredibly colorful Nipper's Bar and Grill. After eating lunch we headed back to Treasure Cay and relaxed for the rest of the day. My first day was everything I'd thought it'd be and more; the only negative was getting a really terrible sunburn.
