Sandy Hook

We all know what happened yesterday, December 14, in Newtown, Connecticut. A crazy, pyscho killer went on a rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School killing 26 people before turning a gun on himself. And frankly, it's sickening. When I first heard about this heinous act of violence my heart dropped. I mean, 20 children and six adults were killed because some cowardly asshole decided to do something so unthinkable. It's absolutely devastating.

My heart is broken for the families of Newtown, and I cannot even begin to imagine how much grief and sorrow the community is feeling and will continue to feel for a very long time. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims' families and the Newtown community. Not a single person on this planet should ever have to bury a loved one because he or she was killed by a homicidal/suicidal maniac.

A phrase that I have always kept at the front of my mind: "God would never give me anything I couldn't handle." I can only hope that the survivors and families of the students and faculty of Sandy Hook will think of this phrase during this time of great need. He did not want this to happen, but He will bring these families through it. I pray they can find the courage and strength to place their trust, love, and faith in Him. He has served the ultimate justice on the son-of-a-bitch who committed this terrible crime, and He now has 26 beautiful new angels joining Him in a much better place than here. I pray that God sheds his light and comfort on the community and that the people feel his presence.
