Education Abroad Photo Contest

Studying abroad for five weeks in Berlin, Germany was definitely one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. And now I have been given the opportunity to share that experience through KSU's Education Abroad Photo Contest! The contest is open to all currently enrolled KSU students who have studied abroad, and winners will be awarded with prizes as well as having their winning photos framed and displayed for fall semester. I learned about the photo contest last night, and you better believe I was searching for the perfect photos to enter in the contest when I should have been in bed getting some sleep. The contest consists of four separate categories: People, Natural or Manmade Beauty, Cultural Identity, and Facebook Fan Award. A person can enter up to three photos - one for each of the first three categories I mentioned - and every photo entered is automatically placed in the Facebook Fan Award category. Of course I entered a photo for each category. The first three category winners are selected by a panel of judges, and the Facebook award is determined by which entry receives the most "Likes" on Facebook.

Entry for People category - The Guitarist

Entry for Natural or Manmade Beauty category - Descending the Alps

Entry for Cultural Identity category - I amsterdam

These are the three photos I have chosen to enter, and I cannot WAIT for October to find out if I won! Also, I'll be sure to let you guys know when the photos are uploaded to Facebook so y'all can help me win the Facebook Fan Award. Wish me luck!

And while I was submitting my photos for the contest, I also decided to volunteer at the Study Abroad Fair at the beginning of October. I haven't made too many waves during my first couple years of college, but this year I want to get involved on campus. Along with joining a sorority I also would love to find a place in the Education Abroad program. Whether it is promoting study abroad opportunities on campus or more of the behind-the-scenes action, I want to do what I can to encourage students to study abroad and explore the world. It is one of my biggest passions, and I want to share my love of travel with others.
