Bid Day

I'm a Gamma Phi Beta!

Bid day was yesterday, and I accepted my bid to Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. I have never been so excited to get to know a group of women as much as I am now. It is one of the best feelings in the world to know that I am part of a group who wants me as much as I want them, and I have already met so many awesome women in just one day of being part of this sorority. It's hard to describe exactly how happy I am. It's so surreal!

I got a phone call from my Pi Chi yesterday morning saying that I had a bid, so I got ready (in record timing I might add) and headed to campus to see that Gamma Phi Beta had extended an offer to me to be part of their sorority, and obviously I accepted it without a second thought. After running out to meet all of our future sisters, each sorority split off with their group of new members to take pictures and give all of us new girls our first T-shirt and a bag of goodies. I don't even have a Big yet, and I'm already getting spoiled! The bag was a canvas tote, which will be perfect for a school bag. Lord knows I've been needing a new one. And the tote was filled with a car decal, a GPhiB cup, sunglasses, and more. I'm definitely excited to put all of this new stuff to use! After getting our professional pictures taken, a lot of the sisters and I went to lunch at a mexican restaurant, and it hit the spot because I didn't have time to eat breakfast that morning. We then had a few hours to ourselves before the second half of Bid Day that evening. We had a short meeting where we were given some more information about Gamma Phi, and we learned a couple songs. I'm proud to say I have mastered Flip Flop. And tonight I have my first New Member Meeting followed by my first Chapter!

I am beyond proud to be part of this sorority, and I cannot wait to spend my last two years of college with these women. This group is so special and already holds so much meaning and importance to me. I never thought it was possible to feel so connected to so many women EVER! I feel like I have found a home here, and I can't wait to grow and become a better me with the help of this sisterhood. I can already tell this is one of the best decisions I have ever made and will ever make. Glory glory Gamma Phi!
