The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music!!

Sunday was yet another early morning. The girls and I wanted to see a couple places before heading back to Berlin in the afternoon, so early risers we were. First stop, a cable car ride to the top of the Alps. After Eagle's Nest turned out to be a bust we still wanted to ascend the mountains, so we talked to an employee at our hostel, and we were told about the cable car rides. It may have been foggy, which was only slightly unfortunate because we couldn't see the views from the top, but it was still an awesome experience. We took plenty of pictures on the rides up and down from the mountaintop, and Ashley was able to spread her stepfather's ashes in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I'd say it was well worth the 15 euros.

We were the only ones in the cable car, so we were able to walk around the car and take pictures from all different directions. I can't even begin to tell you how many pictures I have. Even with the fog, clouds, and glare from the windows I was snapping away.

It was so cold at the top of the mountain! My jeans, sweatshirt, and Toms were definitely not enough. I totally could have worn more layers. Claire cut her toe on a rock, and she didn't even realize it until we were back in the cable car, and she saw it. We were all numb! But it was totally worth it. We were also the only ones at the top, so the experience was that much more private and special. I felt like I was at the top of the world.

1806 meters!

The cable car definitely made up for our bad luck with the Eagle's Nest. We all had a blast! The only thing that could have made it better would have been actually seeing the views. But hey, what can you do?

I still have one more post coming from Salzburg, so stay tuned. And can you believe I only have six days left in Germany?! I know I can't. This time has flown by. I am no where near ready to leave.
