Countdown to Berlin: 12 Days...

I am getting so excited for my trip! Now that I'm done driving back and forth to Kennesaw for the rest of the summer it is finally hitting me that I'm about to leave the country. But I still have so much to do before I leave. I haven't even begun to pack. I still haven't bought my art book or plug adapters. I'm just feeling a little underprepared. Hopefully I'll feel better once I start getting all my stuff together.

I've been talking to several people on the trip about weekend plans. Trying to get all of our travel arrangements finalized is my biggest stressor. I want to be able to see everything. It's just hard to get things together when we can only communicate over Facebook at the moment. But for the most part I think we have a basic game plan. We'll spend our first free weekend in Berlin. The next weekend we'll go to Munich, The Eagles Nest, and Salzburg, Austria. The next weekend is a four day weekend, and we all want to go to Amsterdam and possibly make a day trip to Brussels, Belgium. And, if we can afford it, we want to go to a beach for the last weekend of our trip. There are seven or eight of us that are planning to travel together, which will be great because we can get whole rooms in hostels and not have to worry about sharing rooms with strangers.

Despite the fact that I'm studying abroad, the last thing I'm thinking about is the actual coursework I'm going to have to do. I'm way more focused on seeing the sights than making sure I get As in my classes. I mean, honestly, when am I going to be able to go to Germany (or anywhere for that matter) for an entire month ever again? I'd much rather spend my trip soaking in the beauty of the world than studying. (But don't worry, Mom. I am going to do my work.)

I bought this book during fall semester, and I've been obsessed with it ever since. One reason I'm so excited to go to Germany is being able to check off several places in this book. I've already seen 14 places, and come August it's possible that number will grow to 25. I have such a strong desire to explore the globe and see all there is to see. This trip is only the beginning of what I'm hoping will be a long life full of travel and adventure. I can't wait to get started!

Stay golden,
Jessie
