Attitude is key.

"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way s/he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled christmas tree lights." -Maya Angelou

For about a week now it has been raining just about every day in Kennesaw, and let me be the first to say that walking across campus in the rain, fighting the wind from blowing your umbrella inside out, and trying your hardest to keep your belongings dry and yourself just mildly decent looking is not the most fun in the world. In fact, it's pretty damn miserable, especially when it's only 50 degrees and you have poor circulation to your extremities (i.e. me). But ever since reading that quotation I have been much more aware of my attitude towards the rain. Yeah, it sucks. Point blank, period. It's not a good time. But at the end of the day it's just water, and I will dry, and life will continue as usual. Sure, my hair might be a hot mess that day, but Hermione Granger had a mess of frizzy hair, and she turned out to be a badass witch. Not to mention rain makes for the perfect lying in bed watching movies, reading books, and blogging days.

My point is things are only as bad as you allow them to be. It's all about your attitude. When you change your mindset and decide you're going to be positive when things aren't going as planned you'll be surprised by how much better your day will be. It's like magic, seriously.

Stay golden,

Introduction and Whatnot

It's always good to start off anything with an introduction, so... I'm Jessie, a 20 year old scorpio residing in Georgia, USA. I attend Kennesaw State University, and I'm majoring in communications and minoring in professional writing. I love reading, writing, and blogging (obviously), and my favorite TV shows are Boy Meets World and The Big Bang Theory. Cheerleading is my sport, but I also played soccer for 15 years roughly as well as a season of volleyball in high school, and I like to ride horses, preferably western, especially barrel racing. I have a massive wanderlust, and I will travel this entire planet. Elephants are my favorite animal, and I like the color yellow even though it doesn't look good on me. (Cool colors are better for fair skin.) And now this paragraph looks long, so I'll let my future blogging speak for the rest of me.
